St Joseph Church of Karvis

The first wooden church in Karvis village was constructed in 1779-1790, it was funded by the owner of Karvis Manor Józef Toczyłowski. In 1861, the church burned down through a fire caused by a lightning bolt. Within a couple of years, thanks to the believers and Giedraitis family, the church was rebuilt. Neo gothic element church as far back as 1865 gathered the believers. In 1954, in the graveyard of the church, the head priest, who worked there, priest Jan Korycki was buried there.
