Saint Kazimieras (1458-1484) – king’s son of Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Poland, patron of Lithuania. J. Dlugošas was the teacher of Saint Kazimieras. Ever since childhood, Kazimieras was known for his piety and honest life. At the age of 25, he contracted tuberculosis and died. Kazimieras was buried in the Cathedral of Vilnius; his grave attracted worshipers. He was canonized in 17th century, for this purpose, the remains of Saint Kazimieras were transferred to the chapel built especially for him in Cathedral of Vilnius.
