Palm and household sitting-room of Čekoniškės village

The sitting-room familiarizes us with palm weaving traditions and household of Vilnius region. The sitting-room has its own ethnographic ensemble of palm weavers “Cicha Nowinka”, which shows not only the palm weaving process, but also sings the folk songs of the land. In 1996, the ensemble based on ethnographic material “Where does the palm come from?” prepared educative music performance. Female members of the ensemble, while singing Polish, Belorussian and Lithuanian folk songs of Vilnius region, show how palms are weaved.
