History of Šilėnai

In the historical sources, Šilėnai was mentioned in 1500. In 1725, a wooden Holy Virgin Mary Church was built there; a few times it was renovated and it still stands to this day. Due to the interesting street structure and architecture of the old wooden homesteads, Šilėnai village (with a church) belongs to the ethnocultural sanctuary.
