Buivydai hillfort

From both sides Buivydai hillfort was protected by the river and steep and high slopes of the river valley. The southern part of the hillfort was not protected by nature, which is why, three ditches were dug and between them a defense line of three mounds was poured. During the archaeological researches, non-thrown, smooth and rugged surface ceramic fragments from 4-8th century were found. From the hillfort, views to Dūkštos valley open up.
